Northeast Alabama Community College is located in one
of the most picturesque areas of the American South. The
college is in the Appalachian region of Alabama, and
close by are such scenic attractions as mountain
waterfalls, canyons deeper than any east of the
Mississippi, breathtaking mountain views and great
outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, skiing and
fishing activities on Guntersville Lake, rock climbing,
whitewater rafting, and spelunking in miles of
underground caverns.
At the same time NACC is only a short drive away from
two of the South’s most vibrant and progressive cities –
Huntsville, Alabama, and Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Additionally, the Ocoee River, the Nantahala Canyon, and
the Great Smoky Mountains, and Nashville, Tennessee are
within two to three hour drives from the college,
depending on the destination. The NACC campus itself is
located on Highway 35 (Lowell Barron Highway), a
predominantly four-lane route that crosses Sand Mountain
and is one of the state’s most beautiful drives. The
college features a nature trail through native
Appalachian plants and trees surrounding a mountain
lake. NACC is located approximately fifteen miles from
Scottsboro and Fort Payne, and Rainsville is five miles
away.
No matter where you now live, consider attending college
at one of the South’s best community colleges and enroll
in one of the school’s many programs. See our
