HIGH SCHOOL
AND GED GRADUATES
First-time admission to college degree programs at Northeast is
open to anyone with the Alabama High School Diploma or an
equivalent and proper documentation as defined by the State Board of Education.
TRANSFERS FROM OTHER COLLEGES
Students with credit from another college will be admitted
unconditionally if eligible to return to their previous college.
If they are not, they should contact the Office of Admissions
for more information.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
We welcome international students. We are glad to learn of your
interest in college and look forward to having you as a student.
Please see our Admission Requirements for International
Students.
ADMISSION NOT FOR COLLEGE CREDIT
Under certain circumstances, an applicant who does not meet
admission requirements may be admitted to a particular course or
program that does not carry college credit.
STUDENTS STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL
High school students have two options for taking college
courses.
Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit students take college courses
to earn credit for both college and high school requirements.
Both the students and the courses must be approved in advance by
the high school and Northeast. See full information at
Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit.
Accelerated students take college courses that do NOT
count as high school credit, if approved by their high schools
and with certain limitations.
Students interested in either dual
enrollment/dual credit or accelerated enrollment should see
their high school counselors for full information. High
school transcripts are also required. At Northeast, contact Tonie Niblett, Dean of Student Services.
After accelerated or dual enrollment/dual credit students become
eligible for regular (unconditional) admission to Northeast by
submitting proof of high school graduation, the courses they
have completed at Northeast will count for college credit.
FORMER STUDENTS OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
For Readmission, submit the same Application for Admission form
as a new student, and send transcripts of any other college work
taken since leaving Northeast. You must apply for Readmission if
you did not enroll for a semester, unless you are enrolling for
Fall after having been enrolled Spring and skipping the
intervening Summer.
PLACEMENT TEST
You will be assigned a time to take the Compass Test for
placement in math, English, and reading classes. See
Compass Test.
