American Sign Language for Beginners Starts February 13

Northeast Alabama Community College will offer open enrollment American Sign Language classes for beginners. This is a 6-week class beginning Monday, February 13, 2012 and concluding March 26, 2012. Class times are 7pm – 9pm. The class location will be given with registration. The course is designed for the novice or persons with limited knowledge of sign language. The course is not intended for certified translators or for professional purposes. The course fee is $80 which will include training materials.

Make learning this new language fun. Experience a new culture and learn with a friend. Become more confident at communicating with hearing impaired individuals at work, school, or social settings. Advance your profession and expertise in communicating with clients. Learn to sign songs or teach children to sign in Sunday school classes. Use sign language in situations where talking or texting is not feasible.

To meet the minimum enrollment needed to provide this course, please register by Friday, February 10, 2012, 5pm. Don’t hesitate and register today!
