Industry Forum Held At NACC a Success
The Alabama Technology Network (ATN) center on the campus of and
in partnership with Northeast Alabama Community College, as well
as the Economic Development Authorities of Jackson and DeKalb
County, hosted an ISO 9001:2008 industry forum recently at the
College.
Twenty-one people representing 10
industries from DeKalb, Jackson, and surrounding counties
attended the event. The forum allowed these individuals to
network and to discuss the presented topic.
The topic of the forum was “ISO 9001:2008
— What You Need to Know about the New Revision.” The
participants learned about changes to the ISO 9001: 2008
standard and how those changes would affect their company. The
ISO 9001 Quality Management System is an international standard
that provides standardized requirements for organizations to
follow when establishing a quality management system.
ISO certification is one of many training areas provided through
ATN. The Alabama Technology Network of the Alabama Community
College System links two-year colleges, The University of
Alabama System, Auburn University, and the Economic Development
Partnership of Alabama together to solve the needs of industry.
Employees of ATN tailor their services to meet local needs,
providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to enable
Alabama’s existing industry to be more competitive.
Due to the attendance and positive feedback, additional forums
will be held on a regular basis. If you would like more
information on the forums, or would like to be added to the
mailing list, contact Ronny Kisor at 256-638-8968, or by e-mail
at rkisor@atn.org.
The ATN is located in the Workforce
Development Building on the NACC campus.
