Volkswagen started taking online applications this week for
production team members at its Chattanooga facility.
Applications may be submitted at
www.vwjobschattanooga.com through 11:00 pm (Central) on
Sunday, November 15, 2009.
Application assistance centers have been established across the
tri-state region of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. According
to information provided by Volkswagen, application assistance
will be provided at Northeast Alabama Community College during
the following hours:
Monday October 26–Thursday October 29: 12:30 pm–7:00 pm
Friday October 30: 12:30 pm–3:00 pm
Saturday October 31: 10:30 am–3:00 pm.
It is expected that the application process will take 10–20
minutes. The location will be in in Room 251 of the
Workforce Development Building (shown on the
Campus Map).
The NACC Workforce Development personnel who will be providing
the assistance have received training in the process through
Volkswagen. NACC is the only community college in Alabama
designated by Volkswagen as an application assistance center.
“We consider our role in this as a public service to the
community,” stated NACC President Dr. David Campbell. “We want
to do whatever we can to help people obtain employment in these
hard economic times.”
Application assistance will also be available from Alabama
Career Center locations in Scottsboro and Fort Payne. Alabama’s
mobile career center is located in Bridgeport to assist with VW
applications.
While individuals can submit their applications online from any
computer with internet access, these centers are provided for
those who need assistance with the application process and for
those who may lack access to high speed internet. Starting pay
for production team member positions starts at $14.50 per hour
and increases to $19.50 per hour over 36 months. For additional
information, telephone NACC at ext. 217 or 375.
