bLACKBOARD iNSTRUCTIONS

Blackboard is a course management system used by Northeast Alabama Community College to provide online access to instructional materials. Every active student has a Blackboard account that can be accessed when registration is complete.

Don't get behind in your online class just because you don't know Blackboard.
Learn all the functions and shortcuts before your assignments pile up!

To take a web-based (online) course:

  • Register.

  • E-mail the instructor by the first day of classes, using your college (NOAH) e-mail account. Instructors' e-mail addresses are in the Faculty-Staff Directory in the Contacts menu. (Most faculty addresses are last-name-first-initial@nacc.edu.)

  • Take Orientation for each class as shown on Internet Class Schedule webpage:
-- Attend Orientation if it meets on campus.
-- Follow instructions if Orientation is online or within Blackboard.

  • If you have not settled all financial obligations to the college, you cannot access Blackboard yet because your registration is not considered complete. At Orientation or by e-mail, TELL YOUR INSTRUCTOR that you intend to finish registering and take the course. Ask how to avoid getting behind in your early assignments, and follow instructions. Then access Blackboard as soon as you become eligible.

  • Financial Aid Students: If your instructor does not hear from you by the end of Late Registration, your name will be turned in to Financial Aid as "not attending." If you are having computer problems, go to a different computer and e-mail the instructor; also turn in any assignments due the first few days.

  • ALWAYS use your college (NOAH) e-mail account to correspond with instructors and college offices, never a different account. Mail from other accounts may be filtered out.

  • When you have computer or Internet problems, you can use NACC computers in the library or computer labs. Have a back-up plan for accessing Blackboard and college (NOAH) e-mail. Never let computer problems make you miss an assignment or message.

    HOW TO ACCESS:

CLICK Blackboard Log-in on the homepage (left menu) or at the top of this page.
